Reseaux Magazine Southern is seeking a highly analytical, culturally aware, and detail-oriented Editorial Research & Content Development Specialist to support the creation of compelling, accurate, and impactful editorial content. This role is instrumental in shaping the voice of the magazine by identifying relevant stories, trends, and influential figures across business, culture, and innovation within the Southern region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research on emerging trends, industries, and influential professionals across the Southern United States

  • Identify and vet potential feature stories, cover candidates, and business spotlights

  • Compile detailed research briefs for editorial, advertising, and creative teams

  • Support content development for articles, interviews, and special editions

  • Verify facts, statistics, and sources to ensure accuracy and credibility

  • Monitor cultural, economic, and business developments relevant to the magazine’s audience

  • Collaborate with writers, editors, and leadership to align research with brand vision

  • Maintain an organized archive of research materials, contacts, and references

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

  • Deep understanding of Southern culture, Black excellence, and professional communities is highly preferred

  • Ability to identify high-value stories and culturally relevant narratives

  • Proficiency in digital research tools, databases, and social media platforms

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
